Description

The MW700 is a portable Lux metre that can take readings ranging from 0 to 50000 Lux. It was developed to measure the intensity of light. Anyone who needs accurate and quick readings of light should get yourself a Lux metre like this one, which features an ergonomic design and is very convenient to use. This metre is useful for a broad variety of applications, including environmental studies, hydroponics, agriculture, horticulture, and aquariums and aquaculture.

This light sensor, which is protected from water and coupled to a wire of 1.3 metres (4.4 feet) in length, may be used to measure the amount of light that is present at the aquarium's substrate.

The typical range for the illumination found indoors is between 100 and 1000 Lux, whereas the illumination provided by the sun outside is around 50,000 Lux. A surface's lux reading is an indication of the amount of light that illuminates that surface.

Because the human eye is only sensitive to blue, green, and red light, only the light that can be seen by the human eye is counted when determining the amount of Lux that is falling on an item. Because human eyes are unable to perceive anything when just infrared light falls on an object, the Lux is regarded as 0 in this scenario. In order to arrive at an accurate value for Lux, the spectral weighting function must be convolved mathematically with the actual light spectrum.

This is the official definition of Lux, which explains why it is an uncommon unit of measurement. However, the Lux unit may also be regarded of as a means to measure light in terms of what our eyes see. The standard metric unit used to quantify the brightness of a surface. One Lux is equivalent to one Lumen per square metre. One Lux is 0.0929 footcandles.
