Just how do mycorrhiza contribute to a plant's development?
When a fungus and a plant form a mutually beneficial relationship, this is called mycorrhiza. Tiny fungus colonise the soil around plant roots, expanding the roots into a web.
This symbiotic association provides the plant with access to nutrients and water that it would not have otherwise had.
